Pajkic came out aggressively in the opening round and was able to land good combinations to the head and body of Butler. However about a minute in it looked as though Butler landed a short left hook that dropped Pajkic but it was ruled a slip. Pajkic landed more of the punches however Butler landed the harder punches but not often enough.

Pajkic was also ramming his head upwards into Butler’s face however the referee did not warn him for it.
a
The pace slowed in rounds three as Pajkic as used his jab but it was a lot harder for him to land many effective follow up punches. Butler continued to hold back looking to counterpunch with the right hand as Pajkic was moving in leaning forward and was open for the uppercut or would pull back laying his head to the side leaving him vulnerable to the right hand counter. Butler had a great straight right hand and right uppercut but would not set it up with a jab and that was costing him as the fight progressed. Pajkic’s nose continued to bleed badly throughout the round.

a
Butler started to look tired in the sixth and seventh rounds as he sat back looking to land the knock out punch. Pajkic continued to come forward throwing and landing more punches and was definitely the more aggressive fighter. Neven’s nose continued to bleed but not as much as in the earlier rounds. Pajkic’s corner did a good job at stopping the bleeding.
a
The eighth round was definitely Butler’s as he was able to land his counter punches well and keeping Pajkic at good punching range. In the ninth round Butler again landed the harder punches and mid way through the round caught Pajkic with a hard left hook and straight right that sent him reeling across the ring. At the end of the round both fighters were hurt as they traded hard left hooks right to the bell.
