*Rios weighed in at 140.25lbs and the contract was 139lbs.  Rios had until 6:40pm, 2 hours from the initial time he stepped on the scale to lose the 1.25lbs.  Rios returned 90 minutes later sat down on the platform and was seen taking a sip of cranberry juice before stepping on the scale (nude) and weighing in at 137lbs at which time Chris Johnson yelled bullshit he’s cheating as one Rios’s camp members was lifting him up while holding the towel.  Rios then immediately stepped back on the scale and it registered 139.8lbs and he had only 30 minutes more to make weight.  Rios returned at 6:30pm and weighed in at 139.2lbs, the Rios camp insisted that was good enough and the Lowther camp refused to accept.  A yelling match ensued between Chris Johnson and Team Rios and the commissioner Dickie Cole.  Within a few minutes a financial agreement was reached!

Trupish and Froch Sparring Intense!

Former Canadian Olympian and reigning 2 division Canadian Champion Adam “A Bomb” Trupish (7-0 4KO’s) has spent the last 2 weeks in Sheffield, England sparring with former WBC Super Middleweight Champion Carl “The Cobra” Froch as he prepares for his challenge for his old title against Arthur Abraham. The Froch versus Abraham fight will be part of the Super Six World Boxing Classic on SuperChannel fights.

Trupish has been giving Froch exceptional sparring and the former Champion said that “Trupish is made of something special”, which is quite a compliament considering the quality of opposition Froch has faced in his recent fights. According to observers Trupish, “Fits in well” and the sparring has been “Very intense”.
