a

(Friday February 4th, 2011) – Wild Card Promotions held a fantastic, action packed and competitive seven fight card entitled “Super Brawl” in front of a capacity crowd at the Molson Centre in Barrie, Ontario.
In the Main Event of the evening Canadian Heavyweight champion Neven “No Surrender” Pajkic of Toronto captured the vacant NABA Canada championship by defeating Louisiana State Heavyweight champion “Lethal” Johnnie White of St. Martinville by a ten round unanimous decision. The judge’s scores were 97-93, 96-94, and 96-94.
Pajkic boxed using his height and reach to his advantage throughout in the early rounds of the fight. In addition, Pajkic landed his jab well and threw the straighter punches but was not landing at a high volume while White loaded up and threw looping bombs looking to land the one punch knockout but when he connected it was very clean and easy for the judge’s to see making it difficult to score as rounds could have gone either way. (Thursday February 3, 2011) Tonight at the Molson Centre in Barrie, Ontario, Wild Card Promotions held the final press conference for tomorrow evenings “Super Brawl” card. Rick Smiciklas of Wild Card Promotions has done everything possible to make this an exciting and crowd pleasing event and deserves a lot of credit. In addition Rick gave everybody praise for helping him to put together the card. Also in attendance was the legendary former Canadian Heavyweight champion George Chuvalo.
The Boxing Examiner.com was on hand to get quotes from each of the fighters in the main an co-main events.
First to take the microphone was Ray “Mount Kilimanjaro” Olubowale(8-4-1, 5KO’s) who has no love lost for his opponent from Edmonton, Tye “Big Sky” Fields (44-2, 40KO’s). Fields questioned Olubowale’s courage and heart for having to pull out of their previously scheduled match last year due to a cut received during training. This angered Olubowale who went on to state:
“I have taken him very seriously all along and was not taking a chance going into that fight with a cut so I pulled myself out of the fight. I have never turned down a fight in my life! All the talk of me being a chicken . . . it boils my blood and this is going to be my redemption!” Read More
