Canadian Cruiserweight contender Troy “The Boss” Ross (24-2 16KO’s) will box in an IBF title eliminator against Philadelphia’s Garrett Wilson (10-5-1 4KO’s). The winner of the 12 round bout will earn the right to face IBF Champion Steve “USS” Cunningham (24-2 12KO’s). It looks as if the Ross vs. Garrett fight will be held November 19th in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Unbeaten IBF Super Middleweight Champion Lucian Bute (29-0 24KO’s) will next face the challenge of “The Road Warrior” Glen Johnson (51-15-2 35KO’s) on November 5th. The 42 year old Johnson is coming off a majority decision loss to WBC Champion Carl Froch. The site of the Bute vs. Johnson bout has not yet been finalized but Montreal and Quebec City are said to be frontrunners.

Williams Lake, British Columbia native Matt O’Brien (18-2 7KO’s) will fight veteran tough guy Librado Andrade (29-4 22KO’s) on August 27th in Mexico. It looks as if the Golden Boy promoted bout will be broadcast LIVE throughout Canada on The Fight Network. O’Brien’s last bout was a controversial majority decision loss to LaFarrell Bunting (18-3-1 17 KO’s)

Décarie to face J.L. Castillo

 Once beaten Canadian welterweight boxer Antonin Décarie’s next opponent has been announced.  Décarie (25-1 7KO’s) will face tough Mexican veteran José Luis Castillo.  Castillo (62-11-1, 53 KO’s) is well known for his wars against the late Diego Corrales as well as giving pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. his toughest fight to date losing back to back narrow decisions.  For Canadians, some will remember Castillo’s majority decision win over Herman Ngoudjo back in 2007.  In Castillo, Décarie finds an opponent possessing an all out attack who’s best days are long but past.  The fight will be held at the Bell Center as part of the ” Fast and Furious ” boxing series presented by the Group Yvon Michel on September 23rd.
