TORONTO (October 7, 2011) – Hennessy Sports announced today that it has signed undefeated light heavyweight prospect Lionell “Lonnie B” Thompson to an exclusive, long-term promotional contract.
The 26-year-old Thompson (9-0, 6 KOs), fighting out of Buffalo, will be in action October 22 on the Logan Cotton McGuinness vs. Benoit Gaudet undercard, presented by Hennessy Sports in association with Interbox and United Promotions, at The Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. Read More

On Thursday October 6th at the Motor City Casino in Detroit, Windsor’s Kara “KO” Ro, moved to 16-0 by defeating Philly’s Elizabeth Sherman (3-1) by a 40-36 x 3 unanimous decision. Ro is a former WIBA world champion and this was her first fight since 2008, and according to media reports she controlled all four rounds.
