On Friday October 7, 2011 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, KO Boxing Promotions presented a 5 fight boxing card with Tye “Big Sky ” Fields vs Raphael Butler as the Main Event. In a scheduled 10 rounder Fields (49-4, 44KO’s) of Edmonton, took on young journeyman Raphael Butler (35-11, 28KO’s) from Rochester Mn. From the outset Fields established his right jab with conviction. The 6’8 southpaw was doing very well until Butler connected with a sneaky overhand right that put Fields down in round 1. Referee Len Koivisto started the standing 8 count in which Fields stood up later in the count. Throughout rounds 2-5, Fields was the aggressor landing very crisp jabs that kept Butler backing up. In round 6 Butler decided to put the pressure on Fields and had Fields backing up with some punches . This didn’t last long however as Fields got back into form and had Butler against the ropes. Fields unleashed a flurry of well over 50 punches. Referee Len Koivisto was right there wanting to step in but Butler kept himself in it by throwing the odd punch to negate that. Many of Fields shots were blocked by Butlers defence as well. After referee Koivisto had given every opportunity for Butler to improve his situation Koivisto called a halt to the fight at 2:27 of the sixth round. Butler was bloodied but he didn’t go down and walked to his corner. With this victory , Fields improves to 48-4 and Butler is now 35-11. After the fight, Fields made it clear that Neven Pajkic should make himself available. Read More
