Trois-Rivières sensation Mikael Zewski (11-0-0) destroyed Keuntray Henson (4-3-0) in less than a round Saturday night in New York City. Zewski showed some of the extraordinary skills that led boxing giant Top Rank to add him to their stable. He even shocked himself with his speedy victory. “I was expecting the fight to go a couple rounds,” said Zewski. “Henson was coming off a first round knockout victory over a guy who was 8-2-0.”

“Henson came out pretty strong at the beginning of the first,” explained Zewski. The Trois-Rivières fighter’s quick left hand, however, quickly turned the fight in his favor. He fired away with jabs and hooks, feeling his man out before letting rip with his right. “I thought I was in a fight until I threw my first right hand and sent him to the canvas.”
Henson hit the canvas twice before the fight was stopped. He looked badly shaken after the first knockdown and the commentators at ringside doubted his ability to continue. Nonetheless, Henson regained his feet to have another crack at Zewski. To his credit, the Louisianan fired back at Zewski with bad intentions, throwing power shots at his much faster opponent. Seconds later, however, Zewski had dropped Henson a second time. The American was clearly hurt, leading the referee to abandon the count at six.

Despite the quick night’s work, Zewski enjoyed his time in New York. “I was very excited about fighting at Madison Square Garden in New York and I’m very happy with the result.” With performances like that, Zewski will likely see the bright lights of New York City and the roaring boxing fans of Madison Square Garden again in no time.
