On October 20th, 2011, Tyler Asselstine from Ottawa received well derseved cheers from the Montreal crowd in the Bell center after in inspired performance. Asselstine defeated the expperienced Isaac Bejarano by a fourth round technical knockout. The Boxing Examiner had the chance to talk to Tyler right after his victory.
The Boxing Examiner.com: Congradulations for your victory Tyler. How do you feel ?
Tyler Asselstine: I feel good. I’m happy I got the stoppage in my fifth fight in the Bell Center in Montreal.
TBE: What did you work on in the gym for this fight?
TA: Me and my team worked on throwing more left punches in training. We knew he would be coming awkwardly with many rights hands. So we had to get through with a lot of uppercuts and body shots to wear him down and stop him in the lates rounds and that what we did. Read More

From October 21 – November 1, 2011 amateur boxing at the Pan American Games will be taking place from Guadalajara, Mexico. What makes this Pan American Games more significant than past years is that this will be the first time that women’s boxing has been included in the schedule. This is a preview of what will take place when women’s boxing makes its long awaited debut at the 2012 Olympics in London, England next summer.
