TORONTO – (July 27, 2010) After countless months of rumors and hype, Orangeville natives Logan Cotton-McGuinness (11-0-1, 5 KO’s) and Buzz Grant (9-3, 4 KO’s) are set to square-off in one of the most anticipated grudge matches in Ontario boxing history, Saturday, September 25 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, for the NABA Lightweight title.

United Promotions put on another great show at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga on July 10th with some of Canada’s hottest young talent putting their skills to the test.

Orangeville’s own Logan McGuinness and Ryan Wagner both dispatched their opponents in impressive fashion. Look for these 2 young stars to be in action again when United Promotions stages their next event on September 25th once again at Mississauga’s Hershey Centre.

Brosch Captures Canadian Welterweight Title

In the main event of the evening Mississauga’s “Mighty” Tebor Brosch (6-3-4, 2KO’s) won the vacant Canadian Professional Boxing Council Welterweight championship by split decision over Hamilton’s Justin “The Matrix” Fountain (6-3-3, 2KO’s) by scores of 68-66 & 67-66 Brosch and 68-65 for Fountain. The fight was stopped by the doctor at the end of the seventh round due to a large cut over Fountain’s right eye caused by an accidental clash of heads.

The fight was a seesaw battle with both fighters visibly showing the effects of the hard combinations they traded. Fountain entered the ring with a small bruise under his left eye and the left eye was eventually cut by a Brosch punch in the third round however it did not cause him any problems. However in the same round Brosch sustained a large scrap under his right eye. By the fourth round the fight resembled more of a street fight as both fighters held and punched away on each other in the clinch. Read More

On May1, 2010 at the Brantford Civic Centre promoters Bill Williams of Black Eye Boxing and Gary Freedman of Title Fight Promotions put on May Day, an action packed show consisting of four bouts featuring local area fighters. In the main event of the evening Chris Aucoin, now 2-3-1 won a four round split decision victory over Jeremy Abbott, now 0-1. The judges scored the contest 40-36 and 39-37 for Aucoin and one judge scored the fight 39-37 for Abbott.
It was a close fight early on as both fighters exchanged hard punches to the head and body on the inside however the tide turned in the third round as Aucoin had Abbott hurt on two seperate occasions pinning him on the ropes but was unable to put him away. Aucoin continued the pressure in the fourth round and landed the better punches backing Abbott up. Read More
