“Mighty” Tebor Brosch (5-3-4 2KO’s) and Justin “The Matrix” Fountain (6-2-3 2KO’s) will renew acquaintances on Saturday July 10 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga. Broach and Fountain fought to a bloody 6 round draw in 2007 and both have a score to settle, this time in the 10 round Main Event of a United Promotions show with the Canadian (C.P.B.C.) Welterweight Title on the line…

TBE: It’s been a little over a month now since you fought Frankie Abbiw at the PowerAde Centre in Brampton how would you assess your performance in that fight?

 a

TB: I enjoyed that fight; I got ready for that fight. I haven’t seen the tape yet you always kind of think differently after you see the tape but I’d give myself a B – minus performance. I think I’ve got a lot more to show. I still got the unanimous decision so I’m happy with the way I performed. The plan was to stay on him and bury my head in his chest and pressure him. Read More

Molitor Recaptures I.B.F. World Title

a

a

(March 27, 2010)  Last night at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario Orion Sports held Rumble at Rama XI.  The event centre was packed and the main event and co main event were broadcasted live on TSN and the entire card was live on the GMA network out of the Philippines.

a

In the main event of the evening Steve “The Canadian Kid” Molitor (31-1, 12 KO’s) of Mississauga, ON recaptured his I.B.F. Junior Featherweight world championship against Takalani “The Panther” Ndlovu (30-5, 18 KO’s) of South Africa by a 117-111, 116-112, 115-113 unanimous decision.  This was a rematch of the two; Molitor won the first fight by knockout.

a

In the opening round both fighters were patient feeling each other out. Molitor tried to find his range and tagged Ndlovu with a hard straight right hand, the best punch of the round.  Ndlovu would back peddle when Molitor put the pressure on him and did not land any effective punches in the round.  The chess match continued in the second round as both fighters were reserved, not taking any chances.  Both fighters were not throwing many punches in a very difficult round to score.  The Rama crowd was getting very impatient at this point in the fight. Sonsona and Hernandez Battle to a Split Draw!

Sonsona lands a right hook

In the Main Event of the evening Philipino sensation “Marvelous” Marvin Sonsona (14-0, 12 KO’s) took on WBO Junior Bantamweight #1 contender Alejandro “Payasito” Hernandez (22-7-1, 11 KO’s) of Mexico in what was to be Sonsona’s first scheduled defence of his WBO Junior Bantamweight championship however Sonsona was unable to make the 115lbs weight limit and lost his title on the scale.  If Hernandez won the bout he would have become the new world champion however this was not the case tonight.

Both fighters gave their all as Sonsona controlled the first half of the fight however Hernandez turned the tables in the second half and took the fight to the “Marvelous One” who seemed to fade down the stretch.  After the final bell both fighters raised their arms believing they had won the fight however the judge’s scored the bout 115-113 for Sonsona, 115-113 for Hernandez and 114-114 even as the fight was declared a split draw!

Kielsa and Montiy Ruled a No Contest!

The final undercard bout of the evening featured Canadian Heavyweight champion Greg Kielsa (10-0, 5 KO’s) of Brampton who took on Kevin Montiy (17-6-1, 13 KO’s) of Michigan.

Both fighters started cautiously throwing one punch at a time with neither landing any significant combinations during the opening round.

A clash of heads opened a cut over Montiy’s left eye half way through the second round forcing the bout to a halt on advice of the ring doctor at 1:51.   The bout was ruled a no contest.  Many felt the cut was not large or significant enough to warrant the early stoppage. Read More
