The Canadian Kid Ready to Topple Another Booth Brother on September 11th

TORONTO, ON (Sunday, August 28, 2010) – If two-time world champion “The Canadian Kid” Steve Molitor (32-1, 12 KO’s) has a home away from home, it would be the United Kingdom. In November of 2006 he captured the IBF Junior Featherweight with a 5th round KO over Michael Hunter, in Hartlepool, and is 3-0 in Great Britain as a professional. But on September 11th, at Sunderland, against Jason Booth (35-5, 15 KO’s) Molitor’s return to the UK will be anything but a homecoming.

 a

Molitor, who’s last ten fights have been in the friendly confines of Casino Rama, in Rama, Ontario, will face not only a hostile crowd – including former Super Middleweight world champ Carl Froch, who pledged his support for Booth – everywhere he turns, but a fighter looking to avenge a loss suffered by brother Nicky Booth in September of 2002. Molitor Recaptures I.B.F. World Title

a

a

(March 27, 2010)  Last night at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario Orion Sports held Rumble at Rama XI.  The event centre was packed and the main event and co main event were broadcasted live on TSN and the entire card was live on the GMA network out of the Philippines.

a

In the main event of the evening Steve “The Canadian Kid” Molitor (31-1, 12 KO’s) of Mississauga, ON recaptured his I.B.F. Junior Featherweight world championship against Takalani “The Panther” Ndlovu (30-5, 18 KO’s) of South Africa by a 117-111, 116-112, 115-113 unanimous decision.  This was a rematch of the two; Molitor won the first fight by knockout.

a

In the opening round both fighters were patient feeling each other out. Molitor tried to find his range and tagged Ndlovu with a hard straight right hand, the best punch of the round.  Ndlovu would back peddle when Molitor put the pressure on him and did not land any effective punches in the round.  The chess match continued in the second round as both fighters were reserved, not taking any chances.  Both fighters were not throwing many punches in a very difficult round to score.  The Rama crowd was getting very impatient at this point in the fight.
