MONTREAL (April 16, 2012) – Rising light heavyweight star Eleider “Storm” Alvarez takes on battled-tested veteran Rayco “War” Saunders in this week’s ESPN Friday Night Fights co-feature at the famed Bell Centre in Montreal.

OTTAWA APRIL 20, 2012: His first fight against Mike Tyson was not just the ‘fight of the year’ but ‘upset of the year’. He defeated former champions Buster Douglas, George Foreman and Larry Holmes. He was a Pan American Games and Olympic Medal winner and by the age of 22 had 160 wins, 14 losses and 76 KO to his name before he turned pro. Evander Holyfield is the special guest at Ringside for Youth XVIII on Thursday, May 24 at the CE Centre. Money raised supports the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ottawa.
Evander Holyfield was ‘The Real Deal’ from the moment he laced on a pair of boxing gloves at the age of twelve. Within months he’d won the Boys Club boxing tournament in Atlanta, Georgia. He qualified to compete in the Junior Olympics. By age 15 Evander became the Southeastern Regional Champion and won Best Boxer Award. He competed in the 1983 Pan American Games and the Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1984. He won medals at both. MONTREAL (April 18, 2012) – International Boxing Federation(“IBF”) No. 2-ranked, dangerous Adonis “Superman” Stevenson (17-1, 14 KOs), is ready to take on the top super middleweights in the world. First, though, the sensational southpaw must get past World Boxing Council (“WBC”) No. 2-ranked Noe “El Carbonero” Gonzalez (28-1, 20 KOs) in their much-anticipated unification showdown headlining this week’s ESPN Friday Night Fights, live at the famed Bell Centre in Montreal.
Stevenson-Gonzalez is the marquee match-up on a stacked card, which is another installment in the popular Fast and Furious Series, presented in Montreal by Mise-O-Jeu and Videotron.

TYSON Fury has been overwhelmed by the support he expects to receive when he battles with Martin Rogan at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on April 14 on the Hennessey Sports ‘Unfinished Business’ show.
The Titanic battle between Fury and Rogan will be broadcast live in Canada only on Super Channel courtesy of CHANNEL 5 this Saturday starting at 5:00 PM ET.

TORONTO (April 4, 2012) – North American Boxing Association super featherweight champion Logan Cotton McGuiness defends his title May 12 in the 12-round main event against challenger Meacher “Major Pain” Major, headlining the Hershey Centre Fight Series, at Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
The old-time Hershey Centre Fight Series card is presented by United Promotions in association with Hennessy Sports.
The May 12 show continues the highly-successful third season of boxing at Hershey Centre for United Promotions, which is comprised of three Ontario boxing promoters –Adam Harris (Hennessy Sports), Tyler Buxton (Buxton Promotions) and Don MacDonald.
“We are committed to this series and boxing fans are turning out on an increased basis to watch many of the best Ontario fighters,” MacDonald explained. “We’re promoting as a unified group and the boxing scene here is exploding. Canadian Boxing Championship Lineage - Our History that Happened in April
April 3, 2010 – Montreal’s David Lemieux defended his Canadian Super Middleweight Championship with a 2nd round stoppage over cross town rival Walid Smichet. This win propelled him up in the WBC ratings with the next 4 of 5 fights for the WBC International title and final elimination for the WBC World Championship.

South America’s WBC Silver Super Middleweight Champion Noe “El Carbonero” Gonzalez (28-1, 20 KOs) weighed in at 180.78 lbs and his opponent, Adonis “Superman” Stevenson (17-1, 14 KOs) weighed in at 176.37 lbs at the WBC-mandated 30-day safety weigh-in for their April 20 fight.

Montreal, Monday, March 26th 2012 – Lucian Bute was sworn in as a Canadian Citizen earlier today at an Official ceremony held at St-Dorothy Elementary School in the district of Saint-Michel in Montreal. Lucian was sworn in by Judge the Honorable Mr. Gilles Duguay and was visibly emotional during the entire procedure. Lucian was accompanied by InterBox President Mr. Jean Bedard, head coach Stephan Larouche and his close friends from Romania and Canada. Lucian was pleasantly surprised to see so many media and journalists make the trip to witness this happy occasion.

It is now confirmed that Canadian Champion Ali Nestor Charles will face Martin “Azteca” Avila of Mexico for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ World Super Welterweight title on April 7 at the Claude-Robillard Center in Montreal.
Avila brings a deceiving 13-8 (6) record, and has proven himself by beating notable opponents such as Mauro Lucero, Ruben Padilla and former world title-challenger Saul Duran, as well as capturing the Mexican national title and several WBC regional crowns since making his pro debut in 2004.
