a

Headlining the card will be undefeated Canadian Heavyweight Champion Neven “No Surrender” Pajkic (15-0 5KO’s) of Toronto who will fend off the challenge of hard punching “Lethal” Johnnie White ( 22-3 18KO’s) of Saint Martinsville, Louisiana  in a 10 round heavyweight bout.

Tyson Fury Accepts Pajkic’s Final Plea

Posted by on December 23, 2010 at 14:11 pm

q

In a final plea to Fury’s sense of pride, Pajkic said, “I will fight you in the parking lot, in the cage, in the ring, anywhere. You can bring your friends; you can bring your family. You’re a nobody.” If this wasn’t enough Pajkic sweetened the deal financially, assuring those in attendance that he would put his “entire purse on the line, winner take all,” if Fury would back up his words and enter the ring. So, the challenge is there, the money is right; will the bombastic Brit sign for the fight? Read More

Neven Pajkic on Tyson Fury: “You have no balls. You’re a coward” (video)

Fans will recall Tyson Fury’s recent disparaging comments regarding Canadian Boxing Federation heavyweight champion Neven Pajkic (15-0-0), following the latter’s defeat of Andreas Sidon in October. Pajkic agreed to fight Fury, but in 2011, not 2010. Fury, frustrated that Pajkic wanted a rest after fighting five times in 2010, lambasted the Canadian, stating: “Pajkic is an embarrassment to his title and Canadian fight fans.” Well, after his abysmal performance against Zack Page (21-32-3) last Saturday, it’s Fury who has tucked tail, refusing to meet the undefeated Canadian Champion. At Real Sports Bar and Grill in Toronto Monday afternoon, a sizeable press conference was held by WCP boxing to announce their February, Barrie, Ontario, show entitled “Super Brawl.” At the front of the room, arranged across the table were several name plates, reading “George Chuvalo,” “Neven Pajkic,” “Troy Ross,” “Tyson Fury” and “Rick Smiciklas.” All were present but Fury who, after verbally agreeing to meet Pajkic, has refused to sign the contract presented by WCP. Fury Not Surprised by Pajkic’s Refusal to Fight

Posted by on November 4, 2010 at 15:02 pm

It seems that the  moment has gotten the best of Canadian Heavyweight champion Neven Pajkic
With the challenge of the UK/Ireland’s Heavyweight sensation Tyson Fury for a  December 18th showdown in Quebec City on the undercard of Jean Pascal-Bernard  Hopkins ringing in his ears, Pajkic has turned tail, stating he’d rather take  some time off than meet up on the most important Canadian fight card in the last 30 years.

“When I was ringside watching Pajkic’s abysmal effort  against Andreas Sidon last Saturday, I got to see a truly great Canadian champion in George Chuvalo,” Fury said.

“If I was able to turn back  time, and approach Mr. Chuvalo in his heyday as champion, and issue the same challenge I just gave to Pajkic, he’d never complain about fighting a sixth fight in a year. Chuvalo was a champion that Canadians are rightly proud of.  Pajkic is an embarrassment to his title and Canadian fight fans.” Read More

Pajkic Responds To Fury’s Challenge

Posted by on November 3, 2010 at 19:20 pm

a

Pajkic has heard just about enough from Hennessy Sports about their fighter Tyson Fury, and his boast that he is a great British Champion:

a

“Just look at his record”, Pajkic said in reply, “Fury is no great British heavyweight champion. The guy has been carefully matched his entire career by Mick Hennessy and has only fought mediocre guys with losing records.

a

Anyone can be undefeated if they fight guys like Daniil Peretyatko (15-20) and Tomas Mrazek (4-22-5). He should try to remain undefeated fighting in Ontario where soft opponents are not allowed”.

As for Fury’s prediction that he will win a fight with Pajkic by first round knockout Pajkic stated: Read More

Ross Decisions Handy

Leading IBF Cruiserweight contender Troy “The Boss” Ross (24-2, 16KO’s) of Toronto, Ontario cruised to a ten round unanimous decision victory over Montreal’s Carl “Kojak” Handy (24-8-2, 15KO’s).  The judge’s scores were 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91.  Ross is looking for and deserves a rematch with Steve “USS” Cunningham after the very questionable and suspect decision in Germany and subsequent ruling by the IBF.

 a

The southpaw Ross was all over Handy in the opening round looking to make it a quick night’s work. Ross was the more aggressive fighter and hurt Handy with a left hand mid way through the round.  Handy then went in a defensive shell trying to survive the onslaught.  Ross then threw hard hooks to Handy’s ribcage bringing his hands down enough to slip in the uppercut.

 a

Throughout the fight Ross controlled the pace of the fight and put the pressure on Handy by mixing up his combinations well.  Troy used the left hook to the head, right and left hook to the body and the left uppercut to do a lot of damage to Handy on the inside.  When Handy was on the ropes Troy would not be easily tied up and would use his free arm to pound away at Handy’s head and body.  With all the inside fighting Ross sustained cuts over both of his eyes which was caused by punches.

 a

To his credit Handy was an elusive target and was able to survive Troy’s speed and power by constantly backing up, covering up in a shell on the ropes and holding on when necessary.  Handy was in survival mode throughout the entire fight and never landed any meaningful combinations. Read More

One-on-One with Neven Pajkic

Posted by on October 29, 2010 at 13:20 pm

a

Neven “No Surrender” Pajkic (14-0) (pronounced “pie-kich”) was born on August 25, 1977 in Serbia. He immigrated to Canada in 1996. Neven studied karate from the age of 9 and did not start boxing until he was 23.

A fast learner, he excelled immediately at the sport and won the Ringside Heavyweight Championship in 2004. Since turning professional in 2005 Neven has fought increasingly tougher competition. He won the Canadian Heavyweight Championship by beating Greg Kielsa over 10 grueling rounds at Casino Rama in March 2010 and he defended it 3 months later in a rematch with Kielsa.

In Neven’s last fight he earned his nickname “No Surrender” by overcoming an early onslaught and defeating a much more experienced American opponent Raphael Butler (35-9)

Neven’s opponent on October 30th at Rumble @ Rama XIII is Andreas Sidon (34-9 28KO’s) of Germany.

“The Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire himself has indicated that he’d like to fight “The Canadian Kid” for his IBF title if both are successful in their upcoming bouts. Molitor will undoubtedly have to fulfil his mandatory against Takalani Ndlovu, meanwhile Donaire has a December 4th bout set and will then likely meet Fernando Montiel in Febuary 2011.

a

It looks as if reigning undefeated Canadian Heavyweight Champion Neven “No Surrender” Pajkic has found a dance partner for October 30th’s Rumble @ Rama XIII. Pajkic will face 47 year old Andreas Sidon (34-9 24KO’s) of Germany. In Sidon’s last appearance in Canada he was stopped in 3 rounds by Sheldon Hinton and has been stopped in 3 of his last 5 bouts.

TBE:  The rumour is you have been training down in Jamaica for some time. Are you planning to make a comeback?

 a

RR:  When I started training I didn’t start training to make a comeback it is just that I have been training so hard because I never do anything halfway.  I’ve been training so hard and getting such good results and I’m doing much better than when I used to train for fights.  I’m in better shape now. Pajkic Remains Undefeated

a

In the Main Event of the evening Canadian Heavyweight Champion Neven “No Surrender” Pajkic improved to 14-0, 5KO’s defeating Minnesota’s Raphael “The Silencer” Butler, now 35-9, 28KO’s by a hard fought ten round decision.  Judges Allan Davis and Kelly Zolnierczyk scored the fight 97-93 and Harry Davis had it scored 99-91 which was very lopsided considering the action.  The fight was definitely a lot closer than the judges had it scored.

 a

Pajkic came out aggressively in the opening round and was able to land good combinations to the head and body of Butler.  However about a minute in it looked as though Butler landed a short left hook that dropped Pajkic but it was ruled a slip.  Pajkic landed more of the punches however Butler landed the harder punches but not often enough.
