(PRESS RELEASE) Territorial advantage and screams from the crowd will not be enough to help Takalani “The Panther” Ndlovu dethrone IBF junior featherweight champion Steve Molitor on Saturday night, warned the Canadian. a
“There is no shadow of doubt that I will beat Takalani in front of his supporters on Saturday,” said Molitor straight up at a press conference in Johannesburg yesterday. a
Molitor is a seasoned campaigner who has been to war. a
Ndlovu will need to fight like a man possessed in every round in order to convince the judges and make up for two failed attempts against Molitor. a
Their highly anticipated third meeting will take place at Nasrec Arena near Soweto where Ndlovu, the mandatory challenger, comes from. a
Promoter Branco Milenkovic, who will present the fight, wants Ndlovu to win in order for South Africa to have two IBF champions.
(Press Release – Sowetan) CANADIAN boxer and IBF junior featherweight champion Steve Molitor’s future prospects will not be jeopardised by the defence on Saturday night against Takalani Ndlovu. a
Calm yet lively, Molitor told Sowetan in an exclusive interview at a top hotel in Sandton on Sunday that he was targeting WBO junior featherweight holder Wilfredo Vazquez Jr for a money-spinning unification bout. a
“I am looking far beyond Takalani. There is no shadow of a doubt that I will beat him on Saturday. I beat him twice before and I will do it again on Saturday. But for me the man I must really beat is Vazquez, he said. a

TBE: The same Courtney Shand that worked with Lennox Lewis throughout his career?
Molitor: Yes, Courtney worked with Lennox Lewis throughout his professional career and in some of the Klitschko camps as well. Read More

Reigning 2 time IBF Jr Featherweight Champion Steve “The Canadian Kid” Molitor is set to make the 2nd defense of his 2nd reign as Champion against nemesis Takalani “The Panther” Ndlovu on March 26th in South Africa.
South African Promoter Branco Milenkovic recently won a purse bid ($320,000) and the right to host the bout beating out Molitor’s promoter, Top Rank ($227,500). This is the second purse bid for the bout with Top Rank having won the initial bid ($215,000) easily beating Milenkovic’s bid ($154,240) but failed to host the bout within the allotted 90 days. That left a door open for a protest by the South African’s and the IBF ordered the new purse bid.
Molitor’s not complaining though, he’s beaten “The Panther” on the 2 previous occasions they met and fighting in hostile territory isn’t anything new for the Champion either. Molitor won his first title in Hartlepool, England against the then undefeated Michael Hunter.
Montreal, Tuesday January 18 2011 – Steve “The Canadian Kid” Molitor (33-1-0 12 KO) will not box at the Bell Centre on March 19th as previously expected, due to an IBF technicality. Top Rank had won the November 30th Purse Bid to present the Molitor vs. Takalani Ndlovu (31-6-0, 18 KO) bout, and decided to work together with InterBox to place the fight on InterBox’s March 19th 2011 Showtime boxing card. However, according to IBF Rule 10.F.1, the winning bidder had the obligation to promote the bout within 90 days of the opening of the bids. The March 19th date surpassed this period by a little over 2 weeks. This opened the door for Ndlovu’s promoter to complain to the IBF. Read More

Molitor started out slow in the fight giving many of the early rounds away to Booth. The champion was cut over the left eye near the end of the second round. However, the cut did not seem to bother Molitor throughout the rest of the fight. As the fight progressed Molitor’s size started to show as he established a solid body attack that slowed the pace of Booth throughout the middle rounds. Booth was landing more punches to the head however it did not seem to faze Molitor as he piled up points with body punches and some counter punches to Booth’s head.Read More
